For so many years I'd been told that "love comes when you least expect it".
Well CHILLLLEEEEE, here's the most unexpected love story of two Black millennials who met in an Uber on 9/8/16.
So boom...
My homegirl randomly hit me up asking me if I wanted her extra ticket to the Kanye concert on 9/8/16 for his Saint Pablo Tour. Now, I’m not much of a rap concert go-er but since it was a VIP ticket, I decided to give it a try. I Hit up my brother @mikehayes24_7 to see if he was going and he was! My sis @ktleigh25 was going too so we made a plan to link at @densondc afterwards for “debrief cocktails” 🍹. Concert was dope, had so much fun and even got to meet @kingpush! Linked with the homies afterwards, had a few MORE cocktails 🤦🏽♀️ and decided to go to @dinerdc for late night noms 🥘.
As we leave Denson, @ktleigh25 orders an #Uber and she hops in the back with her friend and I hop in the front cause sometimes I do that 💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️ We’re laughing and talking about the concert and post-concert shenanigans when I look over at the driver... 😍😍😍😍 With my liquid courage IN TACT, I politely asked if he had a girlfriend 😎 to which he responded “no ma’am” (he’s from Louisiana 😉). Tbh I don’t remember what the hell this Black king said after that cause I was pretty much smitten in that exact moment ❤️. The cocktails started to really kick in and things got a little blurry 😂 but apparently we chatted a bit about life and 🎶 and exchanged numbers before I got out (legit no recollection of this lol 🤷🏽♀️). A week later 😒 he texts me. I didn’t remember who “Collus” was at all so I asked for a picture 😎💅🏽 Chiiiiiillleeee when he sent it to me, I immediately remembered!! 🙌🏾
3.5 years later, we’ve gotten married and we just welcomed our son, Josiah on March 14th! 💍 ❤️
