#2: Trust the process

So this is a lesson that I learned from the very beginning of my #locjourney that was quickly mirrored in real time.

Before you made the decision to lock your hair, of course you’d seen others’ #locs. You’ve visited the IG pages, you’ve followed your fave influencers, you’ve seen your friends, family members', & co-workers, etc who have them and at some point, you finally decided to pull the trigger. YAY!!!! Welcome to one of the best decisions you'll ever make in your LIFE.

What you don’t know before you embark on your own journey, however, is what lies ahead; i.e. what your journey through the locking process will look like, how thick, how frizzy or how long it will take for your locs to bud/mature/get past your ears, neck, shoulders, etc. You’ll never get the answers to these questions before you begin, yet you still embark on the journey anyway, right? Good. For. You.

So in life, taking the leap towards accomplishing a certain outcome or goal is the first and most significant thing you can do. Although you may not be sure of what your specific journey will entail, you have a goal in sight that you’ve visualized. From there, you simply have to relinquish ultimate control of the outcome and trust the journey that lies ahead of you.
